Borko Ristovski
Borko Ristovski is a prominent Macedonian handball player and sports manager. He was born on November 2, 1982.
Ristovski began his career as a handball player in RK Jug Skopje (1998/1999) and RK Makedonija Skopje (1999/2000), before joining RK Vardar. In RK Vardar Skopje, he built his career as a goalkeeper in the periods 2001/2002-2002/2003, 2010/2011, as well as 2019/2020-2022/2023, achieving significant successes.
His international success has taken him to clubs such as SD Tecro Pontevedra, CB Algeciras in Spain, Metalurg Skopje, Vfl Gummersbach in Germany, Al Ahly in Egypt, US Creteil in France, Rhein-Neckar Lowen in Germany, Barcelona in Spain, Benfica in Portugal, and TBV Lemgo in Germany. At each of these clubs, Ristovski has displayed exceptional skills, winning numerous titles and accolades.
Anti-Doping
The World Anti-Doping Code requires athletes and sports support personnel to know and comply with all rules adopted under the Code (Articles 21.1.1 and 21.2.1). In accordance with Article 20.3.13 of the Code, NADO MKD is obliged to plan, implement, evaluate and promote anti-doping education in accordance with international standards. The education plan is the key to ensuring a unified, coordinated and effective fight against doping in sport at both the international and national levels (Code, Article 18.1).
NATIONAL ANTI-DOPING PROGRAM
The World Anti-Doping Code requires athletes and sports support personnel to know and comply with all rules adopted under the Code (Articles 21.1.1 and 21.2.1). In accordance with Article 20.3.13 of the Code, NADO MKD is obliged to plan, implement, evaluate and promote anti-doping education in accordance with international standards. The education plan is the key to ensuring a unified, coordinated and effective fight against doping in sport at both the international and national levels (Code, Article 18.1).
NADO MKD has adhered to the rule from the beginning that the athlete’s first encounter with anti-doping should be through education, and not through testing (doping control), according to the International Standard for Education, Article 7.2.1. At the national level, anti-doping education programs are coordinated by NADO MKD in cooperation with the competent national sports federations, the Union of Sports Federations of the Republic of North Macedonia (USF), the National Olympic Committee of North Macedonia (IOC), the Paralympic Committee of North Macedonia (PCM) and educational institutions. Despite the fact that the USF, IOC and PCM are not direct signatories to the Code, as members of the International Sports Federations and the IOC, they are obliged to act in accordance with the Code and relevant international standards.

The European Week of Sport (EWoS) is an initiative of the European Commission aimed at encouraging physical activity, recreation and a healthy lifestyle among citizens of all ages.

The European Week of Sport (EWoS) is an initiative of the European Commission aimed at encouraging physical activity, recreation and a healthy lifestyle among citizens of all ages. The National Coordinating Body (NCB) is proud to implement this campaign through numerous events, activities and research processes across the country.
EWoS IMPACT 2024
Period: September – December 2024
Focus: Implementation of a pilot version of the National Strategy for Recreational Sports and Health in 25 municipalities.
Additionally: Questionnaires will be conducted for high school and university students to collect relevant data on the effect of the activities.
Post-Campaign 2024 (September – December)
Continuation of activities in 25 municipalities in cooperation with local authorities, with full support for pilot implementation of the national strategy. Final questionnaires will be conducted for participants to measure impact.
Post-Campaign 2025 (January – May)
During the winter break, the NCB will analyze the results of the pre- and post-activity questionnaires and produce a comprehensive report on the impact achieved.
The National Recreational Sports Festival is a two-day public event organized by the Ministry of Sport, marking the official closing of the European Week of Sport 2024 and the ceremonial opening of the 2025 sports season. The festival will take place on 31 May and 1 June 2025 at the ARM Sports Centre in Skopje, and will bring together sports federations, schools, institutions and citizens of all ages. Through interactive zones, demonstrations, mini-tournaments and inclusive activities, the festival promotes physical activity, togetherness and sport for all. Admission is free, and all visitors are welcome to participate, move and celebrate the shared spirit of active living.

Focus: Mass participation, youth involvement and promotion of physical activity through national sporting events.
